MONAMOON team, together with Samoilenco Clinic prepared New Year's tips for moms-to-be. What should be in the ideal menu for pregnant women, what to wear in order to shine during the main night of the year and how to dress up comfortably on the first of January — read and see below.
NEW YEAR'S MATERNITY MENUS
How to eat delicious on New Year's Eve and stay slim, so that in the morning there is no heaviness or puffiness, and so that none of the dishes harm the expectant mother or baby? Marta Lisevych, a dietitian of the Samoilenco Clinic, spoke about this.
On December 31, a mo-to-be, as on any day, needs to have a full breakfast, a tasty lunch and a light dinner. Ideally, no more food after 22:00. If you find it difficult to resist, finish the treats before 1:00 am at the most. Moreover, before the next meal, you need to take a 12-hour break — wait for a late breakfast or an early lunch.
What you can eat?
- The main dish is baked white fish. This can be cod with lemon and thyme.
- Vegetable salads. Dress them with olive oil, sprinkle with nuts and grated Parmesan.
- Vegetables baked or grilled.
- Cheese plate, but no honey or jam. It is preferable to choose white young cheese like feta and mozzarella.
- Caviar is an excellent source of Omega-3, it is also an invited guest on the New Year's table of a pregnant woman.
- As a holiday exception, the mother-to-be can treat herself to a small piece of homemade cake.
What you cannot eat?
- You must say a definite no to alcohol. Champagne is non-alcoholic only.
- During dinner, you should exclude starchy vegetables: potatoes, carrots, beets, pumpkin and sweet potatoes.
- Traditional New Year's salads and meat dishes are best left for lunchtime.
- Pickled and salted vegetables should not seduce you too.
- From the New Year's menu for a pregnant woman, you need to cross out everything raw: sushi, sashimi, tartar.

New Year’s looks
When choosing a New Year's outfit, be guided by the format of the celebration that you have to do. For a more formal meeting, an elegant suit made of a jacket and maternity pants embroidered with sequins will do. Alternatively, classic black pants in tandem with a sequin tunic. If you want to wear a dress that will later come in handy for many bright occasions, a long-sleeved silk model is a win-win option. The dress is sewn on a sideways and will decorate your figure, both during pregnancy and after it. A silk skirt and cashmere jumper will become an outfit that harmoniously combines comfort and sophistication.

Looks for a holiday weekend
The first of January is a long-awaited family day, when you want to soak up your bed a little longer. For the morning, you can choose a set with a nightdress or pajama. Throw a gown over the top for a comfortable breakfast look.
Stylish cashmere suits or a set of sweatshirt with joggers are suitable for family leisure or walking. A down jacket or a classic-cut coat will complete the look, which will look great with a tracksuit.
